The major part of the building’s volume is situated under the existing road. Our aim is to highlight the importance of the rock wall with a natural portal with the emerging Punkva river. A covered ramp leading tourists inside the building is the only structure obviously protruding to the surface. When creating the new building, we were inspired by stone – mineral placed in the dramatic natural environment of rocky walls. The interior layout copies exactly the external shape of a crystal. The premises of the entrance hall and café visually lead directly to the rocky entrance portal with the Punkva river. Social amenities, storage spaces and other facilities are hidden in triangular spaces inside the layout. The entire building is cast in coloured concrete.
